I’ve been super busy with a crawling baby, the new responsibility of teaching Religious Ed class, and an upcoming deadline for an exciting project I can’t wait to tell you about! So, I’ve been very inconsistent in my blogging and even in this linkup.
But! I managed to pull myself together this weekend. I hope you enjoy my reflection on today’s Mass readings, and the reflections from my blogging friends!
And, I’d love to hear your thoughts, too.
My takeaway:
Sons of Thunda, just putting it all out there.
They’ve got some guts, seriously guys. It’s good to know the 12 Apostles were just human too, right? They had their own strengths and weaknesses and they screwed up royally sometimes.
But they were still Jesus’s beloved friends. That gives me hope.
Nicole had me cracking up, but at the same time saying: it me.
If this isn’t exactly how I pray: “Hi, um, Jesus? I’d like you to do this thing for me which I’m asking and bless it k thanks bye.” Killing me, Nicole!
“I’m a huge follower, a big fan.” This line made me pause. Yep, I do this. I sometimes treat Jesus like my fave celebrity. Sure, I follow him. I study him. Read all those Gospel stories.
But I need to actually follow him. Love him, trust him, listen to him. Take up my cross. and learn to sacrifice.

Your turn:
I want to know your Mass Takeaway too! Comment with your thoughts on the readings, your pastor’s homily, or anything that struck you during your time at Mass.

Our pastor, Fr. Steve, incorporated the sacrificial life of St Max. Kolbe, when he gave his life in exchange for another. St. Max. Kolbe learned thru the most humbling of life’s experiences what it means to take up your cross and follow me. I, too, ask poorly and was gently smacked in my spirit to reflect also on what may be required of me, how God will use me , in enabling my “request” to be fulfilled. It will be my cross that I am to bear and pray for His Grace to accomplish His will in and thru my life.
