#MyMassTakeaway. The world offers us options. But we don't have to take them. Like Jesus in the Gospel, we can see through the world's deceit. The lies, the empty promises. We don't have to settle for the choices that won't satisfy us. . "Should we pay Caesar or no?" . Jesus didn't like those choices. He didn't bite. He didn't play their game. . We don't have to play the game either. When the world sets two ways before us and asks us to pick, we don't have to take those options. . Instead, when we turn to Jesus in prayer, He opens the door for us, just like in the first reading. He opens the door to new choices. To the path He wants us to take. . Choosing Jesus wins the game. It satisfies us beyond our wildest dreams. He makes a new way, where the only ones offered to us seem hopeless. . The world can't tell you what to choose. Choose Jesus today. Choose prayer. Choose the life of radical abandonment to His will. . #MySundayBest. With @rosiehill425
Thoughts from my blogging friends:
"He said to them, "Whose image is this and whose inscription?" They replied, "Caesar's." At that he said to them, "Then repay to Caesar what belongs to Caesar and to God what belongs to God."" In today's Gospel, they are told to pay Caesar what is his because it bears his image. People bear God's image. Each and every one of us is made lovingly in God's image in likeness. And we "pay" God by giving Him our entire lives. We belong to God. This is a blessing and a responsibility. #mymasstakeaway #lovetheword #SundayFunday #Catholicblogger #CatholicsofInstagram
I've been having a hard time balancing my work life with my home life. I went to the 7 AM mass alone this morning, and while I was listening to the Gospel something struck me. My work is certainly a part of me, but my heart belongs to Christ. His ownership of me is why I do what I do. A vocation is a path to sanctification, not an avenue for frustration or stress. When my work begins to consume me, I need to turn my focus back to Him. Caesar can have what is Caesar's. I will give my heart to God. #mymasstakeaway #mysundaybest
“Holy women are the incarnate of the feminine ideal; they are also a model for all Christians.” -St. Pope John Paul II // We are all called to holiness. How do we answer that call? By loving God with all our hearts and minds. When we love Him like this, we give to God what is God’s. . . . #givetogodwhatisgods #mysundaybest #mymasstakeaway #rosaryathon #johnpaulii #jpii #holywomen #feminineideal #authenticfemininity #femininity #christianwoman #catholicwoman #catholic #catholicsofinstagram
